Communication with the processor is via block transfer interface, and no external power supply is required. The module occupies a single slot in the 1771 I\/O chassis. Terminal identification is printed on the faceplate label, covering inputs 1 through 16 single-ended and inputs 1 through 8 differential, with module common terminals at positions 5, 10, 15, 20, and 21. A RUN and FLT indicator LED pair is visible on the module latch assembly. The 1771-IFE was discontinued by the manufacturer in 2017 and is no longer available through authorized distribution channels.
