A 2 inch sanitary pneumatic butterfly valve from Adamant Valves, model AV-1PC-2VNC-304-S, configured for tri-clamp tri-clamp end connections and normally closed (NC) operation. The NC configuration uses air to open and a spring return to close, making it a fail-safe closed design suitable for process isolation in automated piping systems. The valve body and disc are constructed of AISI 304 stainless steel, and the vertical-type pneumatic actuator is also 304 stainless steel construction. The 2 inch line size connects via standard sanitary tri-clamp ferrules with an OD of 64 mm (2.5 in. clamp size). Maximum working pressure is 145 psi (10 bar) for this size range. Actuator air supply pressure is rated at up to 9 bar with a maximum output torque of 20 Nm and a shut-off cycle time of approximately 1.5 seconds, as noted on the actuator label. Surface finish is Ra 32 microinch (0.8 micrometer) as standard. The AV-1PC series is designed for use in food, beverage, pharmaceutical, dairy, bioengineering, and chemical process piping systems where sanitary construction and automated flow control are required.
