This listing is for a used Advanced Digital Research Inc. (ADR Inc.) Advanced Machine Interface (AMI) board assembly, serial number 363309. The PCB silkscreen identifies the manufacturer as Advanced Digital Research, Inc. and the product as Advanced Machine Interface, made in USA, copyright 1992 to 1999, with a date code label reading 990825. The board is mounted on a metal bracket and is populated with multiple interface connectors including DB25 and DB9 style ports labeled HOST, PUNCH, and CNC visible on the bracket edge. A terminal block is also present on the board edge. The AMI is a behind the tape reader (BTR) adapter designed to place legacy CNC machine controls online for DNC (distributed numerical control) program transfer, allowing programs to be loaded from a host computer without paper tape. Key ICs visible include a Tundra CA82C52-16CN serial communications controller, SG531P oscillator, 93LC46B serial EEPROM, and SIPEX SP232ACT RS232 line drivers.
