The Allen-Bradley 1771-IA/A is an 8-point digital AC input module designed for use with the PLC-5 programmable controller family. Catalogued as Cat. No. 1771-IA, this Series A module accepts 120V AC/DC discrete input signals from field devices including limit switches, pushbutton switches, selector switches, float switches, and proximity switches. Operating voltage range is 87 to 138V AC and 97 to 138V DC at 50/60 Hz. Backplane current draw is 75 mA from the 1771 I/O chassis power supply.
The module installs into any available slot of a compatible 1771 I/O chassis and uses the 1771-WA wiring arm for field-side signal termination. Eight orange front-panel LED status indicators provide field-side indication of individual input states. Signal delay is approximately 24 ms at AC on/off state and 10 ms at DC on state, with an off-state current maximum of 2.8 mA.
This module is part of the legacy 1771 PLC-5 product line and has been discontinued by the manufacturer (Rockwell Automation). Unit bears internal tracking barcodes from ReMan Electronics and a Schneider Electric job label referencing Alton Steel, Alton, IL (Job 091817-070, PO A36460, ASI 0240-1250). Serial number A0942797 is visible on the module nameplate. Made in Germany by Allen-Bradley GmbH, 5657 Haan.
