The Allen-Bradley 22-COMM-E is a PowerFlex Component Class EtherNet/IP communication adapter, Series A, with firmware version 1.008 as shipped. This module installs internally into PowerFlex 4M, 4, 40, 40P, and 400 AC drives via the DSI (Drive Serial Interface) connector, enabling EtherNet/IP network connectivity for control, configuration, monitoring, and data collection through a PLC, HMI, or PC. The adapter supports 10 or 100 Mbps in both full and half duplex modes and provides up to 30 simultaneous TCP connections, with a minimum Requested Packet Interval of 5 ms. A single Multi Drive feature allows up to five PowerFlex drives to connect to a single EtherNet/IP node, reducing hardware and network infrastructure cost. The unit accepts power from the host drive at 5 VDC, 350 mA, eliminating the need for an external supply. Connectivity includes an RJ45 Ethernet port (CAT 5 compliant), a 20 pin DSI ribbon connector, configurable switches for single or multi drive mode, and a Web Pages enable switch for diagnostic access through standard browsers. Built in diagnostic web pages support device information, configuration, status monitoring, and email notification on fault or communication loss.
