Product Description

This is an Allen-Bradley 509-BOD NEMA Size 1 motor starter. The nameplate reads CAT. NO. 509-BOD, SER. B, SIZE 1, 27 AMP MAX. CONTINUOUS 600VAC MAX., and ALLEN-BRADLEY MILWAUKEE, WISCONSIN U.S.A. The max ratings table reads 7-1/2 HP at 200V, 7-1/2 HP at 230V and 10 HP at 460-575V for 3 PH. 3-5 POLE, and 2 HP at 115V and 3 HP at 230V for 1 PH. 2 POLE. The nameplate carries AB, UL and CSA marks. The coil label reads 115-120V 60HZ, 110V 50HZ and CB236. No serial number is shown on the nameplate.

The starter has L1, L2 and L3 line terminals and T1, T2 and T3 load terminals. The overload relay has a RESET button, a TRIPPED indicator and heater elements marked W 53. A red wire and a small diode are connected at the coil terminal. A side-mounted auxiliary contact block is fitted. The photos show dust and lint, dull brass terminal screws, and surface soiling.

Sold as surplus, untested. This unit has not been powered on or tested by MRO Exchange, and the coil, contacts and overload relay have not been verified.
