Allen-Bradley Magnetic Motor Starter 509-BOD

The Allen-Bradley 509-BOD is a Size 1 full-voltage magnetic motor starter manufactured by Allen-Bradley in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, USA. The unit carries catalog number 509-BOD, Series B, and is rated for continuous duty at up to 600V AC maximum. The integrated coil is rated 115–120V at 60Hz (also 110V at 50Hz per the coil label). Motor ratings are as follows: 3-phase, 3 to 5 pole configuration supports up to 7.5 HP at 200V and 230V, and up to 10 HP at 460–575V; single-phase, 2-pole supports 2 HP at 115V and 3 HP at 230V. The assembly includes an overload relay with a manual reset button and a trip indicator. Line terminals are labeled L1, L2, and L3, and the unit features auxiliary contact provisions visible on the side. This starter is a three-pole, across-the-line design suitable for industrial motor control applications. The unit was removed from service and shows surface wear consistent with field use. UL and CSA listed per the nameplate. Compatible with Allen-Bradley Series 509 accessories including heater elements and auxiliary contacts per the 509 platform.
