Used in industrial motor control applications, the Allen-Bradley 509-BOD-XXX is a NEMA Size 1 full voltage non-reversing magnetic motor starter rated for 600V AC continuous service. The contactor body carries catalog number 509-BOD-XXX, Series B, with L1, L2, and L3 line terminals clearly marked. The coil is rated 115-120V AC, 60Hz (110V, 50Hz), confirmed by the CB236 coil designation visible on the unit. Maximum continuous current rating is 27 amps at 600V AC. Motor HP ratings per nameplate are 7-1/2 HP at 200V and 230V three-phase, and 10 HP at 460-575V three-phase. This assembly includes an Allen-Bradley SMP-1 solid-state overload relay with an adjustment dial range of 3.7 to 12 amps (A2 class), featuring a Trip pushbutton, manual reset, NC contact at terminals 95/96, and NO contact at terminals 97/98. A 595-A series auxiliary contact block is mounted to the side of the starter body. The unit is open-type without enclosure and made in the USA. The 509-BOD-XXX is a legacy Bulletin 509 series product, long discontinued by Rockwell Automation, making surplus examples a primary source for maintenance and replacement applications. Compatible with Allen-Bradley 592 series overload relays and 595 series auxiliary contacts.
