The Allen-Bradley 1785-L40B is a PLC-5/40 Processor Module from Rockwell Automation, part of the legacy PLC-5 family widely used in industrial automation and machine control applications. The catalog number 1785-L40B carries Series A designation with Firmware Rev. N as shown on the nameplate. The module features 48K word SRAM, supports up to 2048 analog I/O points, and provides four DH+ and Remote I/O channels. Backplane requirements are rated at 3.3A at 5VDC. EEPROM program backup is supported. The part number on the nameplate reads 96166473 AB1. The unit was manufactured in the USA and bears a barcode label reading ST0FP8YU. A Panasonic lithium battery (BR-A, 3V) is included alongside the module in the foam-lined shipping insert. The module is sealed in its original antistatic bag with two intact Rockwell Automation orange ATTENTION static-sensitive handling seals. The seals reference SUPR 9.25 March 1999, superseding SUP-1142. No outer OEM box is present. The 1785-L40B is discontinued by the manufacturer and is sought after as a direct spare and replacement unit for existing PLC-5/40 installations.
