The AMCI 1743 is an Intelligent Resolver Interface Module from Advanced Micro Controls Inc. designed as a plug in card for the Allen-Bradley PLC-5 1771 I/O platform. Part of AMCI's Series 1700 family, the 1743 belongs to the 1740 sub series of 13 bit, single turn resolver interface modules. The module accepts resolver transducer inputs and converts the analog resolver signals into digital absolute position and tachometer data transmitted to the PLC processor over the 1771 backplane. The 1743 uses a 14 pin transducer input connector (AMCI MS-14 / Phoenix Contact 1757132) to accommodate multiple channels and is compatible with AMCI's HT-20, HTT-20, H25, RL100, and cable reel transducer product lines, as well as supported Autotech Controls resolvers when configured through the Resolver Type parameter. Position resolution is programmable up to 8,192 counts per turn (13 bit) with selectable scale factor, programmable count direction, linear and circular offsets, preset value, and selectable BCD or binary data format. Module configuration is performed from the PLC-5 processor using block or single transfers, with parameters stored in onboard nonvolatile RAM. The 1743 is part of AMCI's licensed Rockwell Automation PartnerNetwork Encompass program and is approved for use in 1771 I/O chassis.
