The Browning P1 7/8 is a P1 series split taper bushing with a 7/8 in bore, used to mount sheaves, sprockets, pulleys, and other Browning split tapered hubs to a shaft. The bushing features a solid flange and double split barrel design intended to provide concentric clamping on the shaft, with external keying to both shaft and product for positive drive transmission. Published manufacturer specifications list a 3.0000 in flange outside diameter and a 1.9375 in length through bore. Material is sintered steel or ductile iron per the Browning catalog. The unit ships in its original Browning Split Taper labeled box marked P1 7/8, part number 1069376, UPC 662289109241, with a date code of 5 24 11. The bushing itself is sealed in factory plastic film with the Browning Made in Mexico label intact and the OSHA guard caution sticker affixed. Recommended tightening torque per the box is 192 in lbs for the P series bushing. The flange features three bolt holes on a 2 7/16 in bolt circle for 5/16 x 1 in cap screws. Typical applications include V belt sheaves, timing belt sprockets, chain sprockets, and other mounted power transmission components requiring a 7/8 in shaft fit.
