Used in CNC turning centers and lathes, the Fanuc Series 18i-TB is a lathe-configured CNC control system built around the A02B-0283-B502 platform. This unit carries serial number E053A1433 and was manufactured by Fanuc Ltd in Japan, dated 2005-03. The A02B-0283-B502 is the 2-slot LCD-mounted type basic unit for the Series 18i-TB, designed to run lathe applications with the FSSB servo interface architecture native to the 18i control generation.

The assembly shown includes the Fanuc yellow control housing with integrated LCD color display, a full MDI alphanumeric keyboard, and a Doosan machine builder operator station panel featuring spindle override, feedrate override, incremental feed handwheel, mode selection, coolant, single block, optional stop, dry run, block skip, axis jog controls, and an emergency stop mushroom button. The internal PCB visible in the photos is a Fanuc MES-1A board, made in Japan.

The Series 18i-TB supports multi-axis contouring for lathe operations and is compatible with the Fanuc FSSB high-speed serial servo bus. This control generation is widely supported in the US industrial market for replacement and retrofit applications on Doosan, Muatec, and other CNC lathe platforms that integrated the 18i series as the primary CNC architecture. All identifiers are sourced directly from visible nameplate and PCB silkscreen markings.
