The Gates SH X 7/8" QD Bushing, part number 78381014 (Gates product number 7838-1014), is a Quick Disconnect style tapered bushing engineered for use with SH series sheaves, sprockets, and pulleys in industrial power transmission drives. This bushing features a 7/8 inch finished bore and is split through the barrel and flange for straightforward installation and removal on a keyed drive shaft.
Constructed of carbon steel, the SH series bushing transmits torque between the shaft and the mating SH bore component through a tapered, friction-locked interface. The QD configuration uses cap screws inserted through the bushing flange and threaded into the mating hub. Tightening the cap screws to the manufacturer specified torque draws the tapered barrel into the hub, clamping the bushing to the shaft and creating a secure, concentric connection.
The SH series is an English bore standard widely used across conveyor drives, blower assemblies, fan systems, pumps, agitators, and general industrial machinery. SH bushings are dimensionally interchangeable with SH style bushings from Browning, Martin, TB Wood's, Dodge, and other QD bushing manufacturers, supporting like for like replacement in existing installations.
