This Giddings and Lewis Dual Servo SBX board, part number 502-03423-01 (assembly number 501-04309-01, REV-1, dated 3/88), is a CNC servo control sub-board designed for use in Giddings and Lewis machine control systems including the G&L 8000 and 8000B NumeriPath CNC platforms. The board provides dual-axis analog servo command output and feedback processing for CNC axis drives. Key components include a Burr Brown DAC811AH precision 12-bit digital-to-analog converter for servo command signal generation, a DALE XO-43B 16.384 MHz crystal oscillator, an LM339N quad comparator, a DG212CJ precision analog switch, Maxim ICs, and an IM6116CPI static RAM. Logic devices throughout include MC74HC and MM74HC series ICs. A sub-board at position N1 is labeled 502-52984-00 / 89212-00. PASS and FAIL status LEDs provide onboard diagnostic indication, and STR and ZERO test points are present for calibration. The board is populated on a gold-tinted FR4 substrate with yellow SMD capacitors and resistor networks throughout.
