This Giddings and Lewis Operator Station Board, part number 502-03419-00 (OEM equivalent M.1017.6227-00, serial 467403, dated 5/88, additional label 350603), is a large-format CNC operator interface and control board designed for use in Giddings and Lewis CNC machine control systems including the G&L 8000 and 8000B NumeriPath platforms. The board hosts an integrated SBX sub-board (502-52941-00 / 89169-00) mounted in the center section via edge connectors, providing expanded operator station processing capability. Three Vitec 54P2892 DC/DC power converter modules are mounted onboard to supply regulated voltages. EPROM arrays at upper right are labeled 502-51447-00 and 502-51449-00. A PLD device is present at PLD1. Power input connectors J13, J14, and J15 provide +5V, +12V, -12V, and GND connections. A relay K2 and multiple blue ribbon cable connectors are present for operator panel interfacing. The board is densely populated with through-hole and surface mount ICs, yellow SMD capacitors, resistor networks, and discrete components on a green FR4 substrate throughout. Serial labels 230600 are visible on installed memory devices. The Operator Station Board serves as the primary interface between the machine operator pendant and the G&L CNC control rack. With the G&L 8000 control platform at end-of-life status per Fives, operator station boards of this type are among the most sought-after replacement components for facilities maintaining legacy Giddings and Lewis horizontal boring mills and vertical turning centers.
