The Square D 8736SCO8V02S is a NEMA Size 1 Type S reversing magnetic motor starter manufactured under the Schneider Electric brand. This 3 pole, 3 phase open type starter carries a 27 ampere rating and is built for full voltage starting, stopping, and reversing of AC squirrel cage motors. Maximum horsepower ratings are 7 1/2 HP at 200 to 230 VAC and 10 HP at 460 to 575 VAC, with a maximum voltage rating of 600 VAC. The operating coil is rated 120 V at 60 Hz and 110 V at 50 Hz, supplied for separate source control wiring. Overload protection is provided by a melting alloy thermal overload relay using three Type B thermal units (thermal units not included). The assembly consists of two 8502S NEMA contactors that are mechanically and electrically interlocked, mounted in a horizontal arrangement. The unit carries a 5 kA maximum SCCR per UL508A when protected by an appropriate circuit breaker or fuse, and is UL Listed and CSA Certified. Form S designates the separate control configuration. Typical applications include conveyor systems, pumps, fans, hoists, machine tools, and industrial process equipment requiring forward and reverse motor direction control.
