The Federal Signal Corporation Model UTM is a Universal Tone Module from the SelecTone product line, Series D, manufactured in the USA. Based on a microcontroller tone generator, the UTM is capable of producing 32 selectable tones, with tone selection set via five DIP switches on the board. The module serves as the core tone generation component within a SelecTone signaling system or a standalone SelecTone device, and can be substituted for any of the 13 individual SelecTone Tone Modules in the TM Series. Compatibility extends across the SelecTone speaker and amplifier product family, the EM3 Extension Module, and Federal Signal command units including the 300VSC 1, 300VSC 1044SB, 300SCW 1, and 300SSC Supervised Command Unit. Rated for 25 VRMS or 70 VRMS operation per published manufacturer documentation. The circuit assembly is housed in a plastic cover impregnated with stainless steel fibers, providing RFI and EMI shielding suitable for commercial, institutional, and industrial signaling environments. An edge connector enables plug in installation into compatible host equipment. The UTM is UL Listed, cUL Listed, CSA Certified, and CSFM Approved per manufacturer published specifications. Instruction document reference 2561101H, Rev. H 1112, accompanies the module. Applications include public address, intercom signaling, industrial audible alarms, evacuation tone signaling, process status signaling, and any installation utilizing the Federal Signal SelecTone platform. Packaged in original Federal Signal box with antistatic bag and printed instruction sheet.
