Product Description

This CNC rotary positioner headstock ships as a two-piece system: the headstock itself and a separate freestanding control cabinet, connected by a bundled cable and hose harness. It suits large-part turning, positioning and heavy industrial machining where a programmable rotary axis is needed.

The headstock carries a T-slotted faceplate measuring approximately 48 in across by tape, in a 4-jaw independent configuration with adjustable clamp blocks. The rear of the casting shows a large circular bolt pattern consistent with a through-bore spindle mount, and the housing carries a lifting eye rated for the assembly.

Control is by a GE Fanuc Series 18i-T with a full alphanumeric MDI keyboard, a machine function keypad, emergency stop, CNC ON and CNC OFF pushbuttons, a program edit keyswitch and a Fanuc feedrate override dial. The cabinet sits on a wheeled base with leveling feet.

Hydraulics are supplied by a Bucher Hydraulics power unit mounted to the cabinet base and driven by an electric motor, with a Parker accumulator model A4N0231D1KGRG, serial 769257-003-001, rated 231 cubic inches at 3,000 PSI. Machine power is conditioned by a Beaver Electrical Machinery isolation transformer, catalog B6HM, serial A 0492, rated 6.0 kVA three phase at 60 Hz, 480V delta primary to 208Y/120V secondary, with 105%, 100% and 95% taps, 8.5% impedance, class 220 insulation and a 150°C rise. The transformer is CSA certified under LR34493 and weighs 105 lb.

Machine interface is through EPIC heavy-duty rectangular connectors, with one connector pocket on the headstock labelled URT2-1. Wiring runs in Anaconda Sealtite flexible conduit. No machine builder nameplate is present on the assembly, so the original OEM and the spindle bore dimension are not identified.
