This Giddings and Lewis Digital I/O board, part number 502-03064-00 (assembly number 501-03855-00, dated 7/83 RB), is a large-format dual-section digital input and output circuit board designed for use in Giddings and Lewis CNC machine control systems, including the G&L 8000 and 8000B NumeriPath control platforms. The 7/83 RB date code identifies this as an early production revision of the 502-03064 series. The board features two independent I/O sections, each populated with a full complement of screw-terminal terminal blocks, individually fused output circuits (FU1 series), red LED status indicators for each I/O channel, jumper pin headers, and card-edge connectors for backplane interface. PCB silkscreen labeling identifies discrete numbered I/O points across both sections, with INPUT and OUTPUT zones clearly marked, along with Board Section label areas and the Giddings and Lewis Electronics logo. Construction is through-hole on a green FR4 substrate with ICs, resistor networks, and discrete components throughout. This type of board provides discrete digital signal interfacing between machine field devices and the CNC control processor. The G&L 8000 control platform has reached end-of-life status per Fives, making original-revision spare boards increasingly difficult to source for facilities maintaining legacy Giddings and Lewis horizontal boring mills, vertical turning centers, and other G&L CNC equipment. No voltage rating or serial number was confirmed from the provided photos.
