The Mettler-Toledo Thornton 5000TOCe is an online Total Organic Carbon sensor designed for continuous, real-time TOC monitoring in pure and ultrapure water systems. Part number 58 036 001, serial number 508040036, this unit is manufactured in the USA and carries UL listing and CE marking for Measuring Equipment (designation 26MR).

Input power is 100 to 130 VAC at 50 to 60 Hz, drawing 25W. The fuse rating is 250V, 1.25A, 5x20mm, Type T (Time Lag). Maximum sample inlet pressure is 85 PSIG. The unit features a sample inlet and sample outlet port, a flow control knob, and a UV lamp replacement cover with a threaded access cap. Rear connectivity includes an AC power input and a 770MAX connection port via a multi-pin circular connector, allowing integration with Mettler-Toledo Thornton 770MAX multiparameter transmitters.

The front panel displays Fault, Error, Sensor Status, and UV Lamp ON indicators alongside a power button. The 5000TOCe designation represents the enhanced platform of the 5000TOC series, which uses UV oxidation combined with differential conductivity to quantify TOC concentration in process water. This instrument is commonly used in pharmaceutical water systems, semiconductor ultrapure water applications, and similar industries requiring compliance with USP and EP pharmacopeia TOC requirements. The 5000TOC platform is now phased out by Mettler-Toledo and has been succeeded by the 5000TOCi series with ISM capability.
