Used in overhead bridge crane and hot metal facility lighting systems, the Payne Sparkman CL400H-M-RR-JB is a 400 Watt metal halide crane ballast assembly with Rough Rider suppression, housed in a NEMA 12/4 rated industrial enclosure manufactured by Saginaw Control and Engineering (SCE), model SCE-1614CHNF, serial number 1386536. The enclosure carries UL listing (A-2,192) and CSA certification (LR97418), rated Enclosure Type 12 and 4, IP 66 per IEC 60529. Ballast input is 250VDC with 2.0 amp ballast current. Lamp voltage is rated at 135V and lamp wattage is 400W. Date of manufacture is noted as 1139 on the nameplate label. Internal components visible include a toroidal inductor assembly labeled 1TR400H-M, capacitor labeled CP400MH, power transformer labeled 400H-M, secondary inductor labeled 1L400S-M, two choke coils labeled 1CH100, a choke coil labeled 1CH035, and a fused terminal block rated for a 10 Amp 600V DC fuse (ATM type). A wiring diagram for the CL400H-M-RR-SCR-JB 2 configuration is included with the unit, drawing number 010891A. The assembly appears to be new in its original shipping carton.
