The Renishaw Equator 300 is a flexible comparator gauging system designed for shop floor dimensional inspection of production parts against a master reference. This unit carries Renishaw branding on the base and an internal identifier of A-5358-0417-03 on the drive strut assembly. The system uses a parallel kinematic mechanism with three linear drive struts mounted on Hooke's joints, providing high stiffness and repeatability while minimizing the unseen motion typical of conventional Cartesian CMM structures.

Working volume on the standard Equator 300 platform is 300 mm diameter in the X and Y plane with 150 mm in Z, supporting workpieces up to roughly 25 kg. The system pictured includes the main Equator head, an EQ33 modular fixture plate marked PCR 501212, a workpiece datum fixture mounted to the plate, multiple stylus holders including R S1220 and R S17520 marked components, signal cabling, a controller unit with surge protected outlet strip, and the original Renishaw installation guide bearing document number H 5604 8550 09 A.

The Equator 300 supports both Renishaw 3 axis SP25 analogue scanning probes and TP20 kinematic touch trigger probes, with comparison uncertainty of plus or minus 0.002 mm under typical conditions. Compatible software platforms include Renishaw MODUS, INTUO programming software, and IPC (Intelligent Process Control). Typical applications include automotive transmission components, drivetrain parts, valves, pumps, and other mid to high volume production inspection tasks where rapid re mastering against a reference part is required.
