Used in CNC machining centers for workpiece setup and in-process inspection, the Renishaw MP3 is a touch-trigger probe designed for large machine tools. The MP3 features an extended stylus overtravel range, making it suitable for applications where generous deflection clearance is required. This unit is mounted on a CAT40 shank, providing compatibility with standard CAT40 spindle interfaces on vertical and horizontal machining centers. The probe body carries serial number B58092. The transmission output style visible in the photos is consistent with an IMP (inductive machine probe) configuration, which communicates with the machine control via inductive signal transmission rather than optical or radio means. The MP3 body is constructed with a black anodized aluminum housing and measures approximately 65 mm in length and 82 mm in diameter per Renishaw published specifications for this model. The CAT40 taper shank is finished with a ground and polished surface. No stylus is included with this unit as pictured.
