The valve body and disc are constructed from AISI 304 stainless steel, and the assembly includes a stainless steel 304 vertical-style pneumatic actuator. Operation is normally closed (NC), meaning it is air-to-open and spring-to-close, providing fail-safe closed functionality in the event of air supply loss.

Per the actuator notice label, the recommended air supply pressure for connection is 5 to 7 bar, maximum output torque is 20NM, maximum air pressure for use is 9 bar, and shut-off time is 1.5 seconds. A visual position indicator is integrated into the actuator body. Published specifications for the AV-1PC series at this size indicate a maximum working pressure of 145 PSI (10 bar) and a temperature range of 14 to 248 degrees Fahrenheit with EPDM seat material. End connections are sanitary tri-clamp style, suitable for quick disassembly and clean-in-place processes.
