The Square D 8903S002 is a 100 amp, 3 pole electrically held lighting contactor rated for up to 600 VAC, 60 Hz operation. The nameplate confirms a maximum tungsten load rating of 277V single phase and 480V three phase, ballast load rating of 347V single phase and 600V three phase, and resistance heating rating of 600V single and three phase. The operating coil is rated 120V 60Hz / 110V 50Hz. This Series A unit carries the internal reference 31074 400 38 and is UL Listed and CSA Certified. Part of the Square D Class 8903 Type S product family, the S002 is designed for switching lighting loads in commercial and industrial panelboards, motor control centers, and standalone enclosures. The three power poles are accessed through bolt down lug terminations sized for large gauge feeder conductors, with separate screw type control terminals located near the coil for the 120V control wiring. The coil and contact assemblies are field replaceable through the front of the device. Typical applications include parking lot lighting, warehouse high bay lighting, exterior architectural lighting, sign circuits, and resistive heating loads where remote on / off control through a low voltage pilot device is required. The device is suitable for use in 3 phase, 3 wire and 3 phase, 4 wire distribution systems within its published voltage and current limits.
