The Square D 8736SCG8V02S is a NEMA Size 1 full voltage reversing magnetic starter, Class 8736 Type S, supplied in a Type 1 general purpose painted sheet steel enclosure. Designed for full voltage starting, stopping, and reversing of AC squirrel cage motors, this unit is built from two mechanically and electrically interlocked NEMA contactors paired with a melting alloy overload relay using Type B thermal units. The starter is rated 27 amps at 600 VAC maximum with a 5 kA SCCR per UL508A when protected by an appropriate branch circuit device. Three phase horsepower ratings are 7.5 HP at 200 and 230 VAC and 10 HP at 460 and 575 VAC, with a 120 VAC 60 Hz operating coil wired for separate control (coil part number 31041 400 42). The factory label identifies date code 1930, week 24, with serial 0020238582518, Series A, assembled in Mexico. The enclosure includes a front mounted reset pushbutton, multiple concentric knockouts on the top and bottom surfaces, an internal ground lug, and factory applied wiring diagram and danger labels. Schneider Electric markings, UL listing (Enclosed Industrial Control Equipment A159), and CSA certification (LR 60905) are present on the housing.
