The Square D 8736SCG8V02S is a NEMA Size 1 full voltage reversing magnetic starter, Class 8736 Type S, supplied in a Type 1 general purpose painted sheet steel enclosure. Designed for full voltage starting, stopping, and reversing of AC squirrel cage motors, this unit is built from two mechanically and electrically interlocked NEMA contactors paired with a melting alloy overload relay using Type B thermal units. The starter is rated 27 amps at 600 VAC maximum with a 5 kA SCCR per UL508A when protected by an appropriate branch circuit device.
