Used in CNC machining centers where multi-face or compound-angle operations are required without repositioning the workpiece, the BIG Daishowa BCV50-AGU/NBS20-315 is a BIG-PLUS CAT50 universal angle head with an NBS20 New Baby Chuck output spindle. The output spindle angle is fully adjustable from 0 to 90 degrees in 1 degree increments, and the cutter head rotates a full 360 degrees, enabling a wide range of machining orientations from a single tool station. Speed ratio is 1:1 with a maximum reverse rotation speed of 4,000 RPM as confirmed on the nameplate. The gauge length is 315 mm (approximately 12.4 inches). The BIG-PLUS CAT50 dual-contact shank engages both the taper and the spindle face simultaneously, providing superior rigidity compared to standard CAT50. The NBS20 collet system accepts a range of tool shank diameters and is compatible with BIG Daishowa New Baby Chuck collets. The angle indexing mechanism uses a precision detent pin system with positions marked 0 through 9 on the face plate, visible in the photos. A caution label on the body instructs not to overtighten the angle adjustment pin. BIG Daishowa is recognized as a premium manufacturer of precision tooling systems, and the AGU universal angle head series is among their highest-capability angle head offerings, suitable for drilling, tapping, milling, and keyslotting in restricted or compound-angle locations.
