Heavy Duty Lathe Steady Rest EP1 12/21 18X18

A large-format heavy-duty engine lathe steady rest of unidentified manufacture, featuring a swing-open hinged upper section secured by a threaded clamping bolt assembly. The body is fabricated from substantial cast and machined steel, with a column section housing a vertical row of eight circular lightening bores. The base plate is drilled with multiple bolt-pattern holes for mounting to lathe ways or a sub-base, and includes a cross-bar clamp mechanism at the lower section. A lifting eye bolt is installed at the top of the upper housing for overhead rigging. The upper jaw assembly includes adjustable clamping screws and a multi-point contact arrangement visible at the working face.

Tape measure shown in one photo indicates an approximate 18 in. internal opening, consistent with use on a lathe in the 20–24 in. swing range. The overall height of the assembly is estimated at approximately 24–26 in. based on visual proportion. Base footprint measures approximately 18 x 18 in. per the pallet stencil notation "18X18." Construction is all-steel with ground contact surfaces visible on the base and way-bearing areas. No manufacturer name, model number, or capacity rating plate is present or visible in any photo. Lot reference "EP1 12/21" is stenciled on the shipping pallet. Compatible lathe brand and way dimensions are unconfirmed and must be verified before use. Sold as-is.
