A fine boring head from Tecnara Kyushu Kogu, model ABH-58, mounted on a CAT40 shank for use in CNC machining centers and vertical milling machines. Manufactured in Japan by Kyushu Kogu, distributed under the Tecnara brand in the US market. The CAT40 shank interfaces directly with standard V-flange spindles, eliminating the need for a secondary adapter. The adjustable boring head body features a micrometer-style dial with .0025 inch graduation, allowing precise radial offset adjustment of the single-point insert holder. The insert pocket accepts indexable carbide inserts and is visible in photos with a triangular insert installed. A hex-key locking screw secures the cartridge position after adjustment. Markings on the body include the model designation ABH-58 and the Kyushu Kogu and Tecnara names. The body is constructed from hardened steel with a natural ground finish on the shank and black oxide finish on the head body. Kyushu Kogu products are considered premium-grade Japanese tooling and are commonly found in production CNC environments. The shank section shows a pull stud retention knob installed at the top.
